My Experience at Kalu Waterfalls View Point ( Top )
- I started my trek from Kube Pada and walked towards Peoplejoga Dam, which lies just before the Khireshwar Temple. From there, I headed towards the Kalu Waterfall top plateau. A small Shiv Mandir (temple) near the dam marks the starting point of the climb towards the left side.
- After walking for about 10 minutes, I reached a scenic point known as the Paradise Fall Top Point. From this spot, the Paradise Waterfall is visible on the left, and the majestic Kalu Waterfall on the right — both offering breathtaking views.
- On the way, I joined a small group who had also come to explore the waterfalls. After negotiating a fair price, we hired a local guide, which turned out to be a wise decision. If you are visiting for the first time or want to make the most of your time, hiring a local guide is highly recommended to better understand the valley and avoid getting lost.
- Monsoon Winds and Weather Conditions
- At the top, especially during monsoon, the winds are extremely powerful due to high air pressure. Clouds move in rapidly, and within minutes the surroundings become dark, like early evening. First-time visitors may feel anxious or even scared seeing the fast-changing environment and could easily lose their way.
- Caution: Slippery Terrain at Kalu Waterfall
- The area around the Kalu River, especially near the edge where the waterfall drops, is very slippery during the monsoon. I personally advise everyone not to go too close to the waterfall edge. The strong winds can push you unexpectedly, which may lead to accidents.
- Also, avoid spending too much time near the edge or at one place — I suggest not more than 10 to 15 minutes at any one spot.
- Bonus View: The Reverse Waterfall
- One unique sight from the top is the Reverse Waterfall seen on the opposite side — a natural wonder where the wind blows the water upward, creating a magical illusion.
- Harishchandragad Fort
- Malshej Ghat viewpoint
- Khireshwar village
🎒 What to Carry
- Trekking shoes with grip

- Basic first-aid kit
